DESCRIPTION
The EU Employee Relations Manager oversees the European Work Council journey, manages our ER project & policies control system, and supports our total reward ambitions across Operations EU. This role is part of the Employee Experience and Relations (EXR) team and reports directly to the EU EXR Risk, Project & Compliance leader. It requires close collaboration with stakeholders across functions, business lines, and countries to ensure effective ER strategy execution. The role aims to enhance EXR effectiveness, contribute to business agility, and improve the positive experience of Associates.
This position can be based in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, or the UK. Travel up to 30% within the EU is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- EUROPEAN WORKS COUNCIL (EWC) MANAGEMENT
- Lead preparation for EWC meetings across all functions, business lines, and countries.
- Coordinate the 2026 EWC election journey as the pan-EU Single Threaded Leader.
- Participate in EWC and Select Committee meetings; manage vendor relationships for logistics.
- Ensure Amazon's readiness regarding EWC directive revisions, including conducting gap analyses, developing renegotiation strategies, and contributing to amendments following strategy approval.
- PROJECTS & POLICIES COORDINATION
- Supervise the EXR change management efforts for projects and initiatives, including intake, process gap identification, escalation, and ongoing improvement.
- Coordinate the HR policy journey as the primary EXR SME across the EU.
- COMPENSATION & BENEFITS LIAISON
- Act as the pan-EU point of contact for C&B challenges and opportunities, promoting total reward value.
Basic Qualifications
University degree and experience in employee relations, labor relations, or labor / employment law, with a focus on labor.Knowledge of EU labor laws, especially those related to European Works Councils.Experience managing complex projects within a matrix environment.Fluency in English (C2 level) and at least one other European language (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian, German).Preferred Qualifications
Experience with complex labor challenges at the EU or pan-EU level.Background in change management and project coordination in multinational settings.Familiarity with EU compensation and benefits practices.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to analyze metrics and sentiment data for strategic insights.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing up to senior leadership.Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer that values diversity and inclusivity.
