Job Title : Network Engineer

Location : Barcelona, Spain

Employment Type : Full-Time, B2B

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to design, implement, manage, and support our organization’s network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, security, and performance of network systems while providing technical expertise for troubleshooting and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN networks.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and security issues.
  • Implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and prevention systems.
  • Manage routers, switches, load balancers, and other networking equipment.
  • Support voice, video, and data communication systems.
  • Conduct regular system upgrades, patches, and preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to support business operations and new initiatives.
  • Provide technical support for network-related incidents and service requests.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, data protection regulations, and industry standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5 years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP / IP, routing, switching, subnetting, and VLANs.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls (Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.).
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Understanding of VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and VoIP technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications preferred (CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, etc.).
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, etc.) for network operations.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
  • Ability to manage large-scale network projects and upgrades.
