The Infrastructure team is responsible for operating and maintaining a scalable, secure, and performant cloud platform to support our engineering organization and growing user base. We are hiring a Staff Engineer (Infrastructure), who will have a strategic impact across multiple teams and technologies. We are looking for a leader who can drive forward technical initiatives, both as an individual contributor and by growing other Engineers.

This person will report to the Engineering Manager, Infrastructure.

Key responsibilities :

Technical Leadership

  • Design, build, and operate production-grade AWS infrastructure within a Fintech environment.
  • Influence and contribute to the technical direction and roadmap across engineering. Collaborate across teams to deliver high-impact technical outcomes.
  • Mentor junior Engineers, to actively support their development.

Individual Contributor

  • Be an individual contributor to our infrastructure code - raising the bar in terms of reliability, quality, security, and cost optimization.
  • Take ownership of important components within our infrastructure architecture such as CI / CD, observability, container orchestration, disaster recovery, identity & access management, or cloud networking.
  • Operational excellence - respond to incidents and participate in the Infrastructure team on-call rotation.

    • What we're looking for :

  • 8+ years experience of professional software engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English - it is our business language.
  • Recent experience in platform / SRE / infrastructure space, working across engineering teams to improve delivery. Experience of SaaS and / or Fintech is a bonus.
  • Deep technical expertise in infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, and cloud architecture.
  • Prior experience in backend software development - we’re looking for someone who can collaborate and deliver projects that span across the application & Infrastructure teams.
  • Pragmatic mindset - ability to adapt to change, navigate ambiguity, take the initiative, and proactively solve issues.

    • Our Stack :

  • AWS as our cloud platform.
  • Kubernetes for container orchestration.
  • AWS RDS, Kafka, Elasticache, Terraform.
  • Datadog for observability.
  • Github for source code & CI / CD.
  • Backend services are developed in NodeJS (Typescript).
  • Frontend is React.
