Position Summary

We are searching for one Visiting Scientist to embark on a transformative 3-month journey with our Research team based in Seville, Spain. Bristol Myers Squibb's Center for Innovation and Translational Research Europe (CITRE) R&D site based in Seville, Spain brings together computational, clinical, and translational research teams to redefine drug development. This paid internship would run from the 1st of April through the 30th of June 2026 and will require physical presence at CITRE in Seville.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the development of therapies that change lives. We are searching for creative thinkers who are ready to dive into an interdisciplinary adventure, blending technology and science to redefine what is possible.

The Project

You will contribute to a multidisciplinary project focused on developing and applying advanced methodologies, including single‑cell RNA sequencing and next‑generation sequencing. The goal is to analyze and compare gene expression profiles in healthy and patient‑derived primary samples, both before and after treatment with internal compounds.

Who You Are

We warmly encourage candidates that have the right to work within Spain (for instance citizens of the European Union) to apply for this position, even if not all the following requirements are strictly met.

• You are currently enrolled in a master or doctoral program in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology or a related field (beyond year one) and are eager to apply your knowledge in a practical, real‑world setting.
• You are fluent in English, and capable of discussing scientific and technical topics.
• You enjoy working in a laboratory environment, designing experiments and being involved in data analysis and interpretation.
• Previous hands‑on experience in wet lab work, molecular biology, NGS or single cell RNA seq is desirable but not strictly required.

On‑site Protocol

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site‑essential, site‑by‑design, field‑based and remote‑by‑design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role.
