As Engineering Manager, you will directly report to the VP of Engineering. You will sit on top of the “EMI Services” splitted in 2 teams composed bya TechLead, 2 QA and 2Developers. You will oversee the delivery and the technical performance for all the products developed and maintained by the squad.

A direct manager of Developers in Spain, the Engineering Manager will drive ambition through leadership, and leverage its people management skills to build long-term motivation and performance.

What will be your responsibilities?

  • Participating in the Engineering Department's vision and organization to meet our development challenges
  • Manage the development team of product oriented squads.
  • Responsible for recruiting team members and participating in the onboarding of new hires. Ensure group cohesion and mindset.
  • Setting objectives and KPI to measure team performance and development quality. Use those metrics to analyze and improve the teams’ effectiveness. Communicate this information (in insights) to management.
  • Coach and provide support to Lead Developers, Developers and QAs.
  • Define and run the rituals necessary to ensure the delivery.
  • Maintain a constant link between squads and external stakeholders to increase the teams’ business knowledge - don’t become a firewall.
  • Maintain a healthy understanding of the regulatory and security framework around Powens.
  • Challenge technical decisions, help team members define the best technical solution to meet the business objectives.

What qualities and skills are required?

  • Solid experience in software development.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating successful team development and project delivery.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English; French will be a plus.
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, productivity, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Able to balance between development quality and velocity in the product delivery.
  • Capable of clearly articulating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders (Product, DevOps, Compliance and Legal).
  • Knowledge of Python, Microservices Architecture, gRPC will be a plus.
  • Prior experience in a fintech environment will be a plus.
