Overview

The Senior Analyst will focus 50 / 50 on strategy and solutioning, and will report to the VP, Solutioning & Futureproofing on the GP Strategy & Business Excellence team. This team is an agile, in-house consulting style group executing projects across Global Partnerships. The role involves managing the project pipeline from across GP verticals, prioritizing projects, and staffing them accordingly while articulating selection criteria. It requires strong customer focus and coordination with account teams across Americas and APEMEA for cross-regional accounts, understanding local, regional and global nuances of partnerships, and supporting Mastercard priorities while protecting against strategic risks.

Role

The Senior Analyst will split time between strategy and solutioning, engage with stakeholders across business units and functions, and work with the Director, Strategy and market teams to assess market developments or regulation. The role may involve supporting high-priority strategic initiatives with the Global Corporate Development team. The position requires building buy-in from stakeholders across regions to execute enterprise-wide strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the project pipeline for GP strategy & business excellence projects, including intake, prioritization, and staffing
  • Engage with account teams across Americas and APEMEA to advocate for customers and understand regional nuances
  • Assess impact of new market developments or regulation; conduct segment research and competitive intelligence as required
  • Build optimal narratives for leadership discussions and support cross-regional product and strategy initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across business units and functions to execute enterprise-wide strategies
  • Work with the Director and market teams on strategic initiatives related to GP segments
  • Assist the Global Corporate Development team on high-priority initiatives as needed

  • Internal executive level quarterly business and operating reviews
  • Contributing to Global Partnership narratives
  • Segment research, market impact assessments, and competitive intelligence
  • Developing narratives that map Mastercard tools to product acceleration efforts
  • Facilitating cross-regional feedback to Product on customer feedback and competitive intelligence
  • Developing new initiatives to expand verticals and enhance Mastercard’s value proposition
  • Executing cross-functional initiatives to improve operating model and industry standards
  • Facilitating customer workshops on innovations and trends

  • Strong analytical and market research skills with the ability to distill insights
  • Sound business judgment and creative, strategic thinking

  • Effective communicator who can translate complex inputs into clear outputs (presentations / proposals)
  • Experience translating strategies into execution plans
  • Programme or project management experience, especially with cross-enterprise projects
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

  • Global mindset with understanding of various cultures
  • Broad knowledge of the payments industry and current trends across Mastercard’s product suite
  • Corporate strategy or management consulting experience preferred
