Postdoctoral Scientist (Grant)
Bioherent is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to lead antibody development for our next-generation photonic immunoassay platform. If you're passionate about antibody engineering and molecular biology for real applications, this is your chance to make an impact in translational diagnostics. We are particularly interested in candidates eligible or planning to apply for a Torres Quevedo grant call, who wish to continue their research career in an innovative industrial environment.
The call will be open from November 28 to December 18, so interested applicants are encouraged to contact us as early as possible to prepare a joint proposal within this timeframe.
Responsibilities
- Perform experiments focused on antibody development from start to finish (mice immunization, hybridoma screening, antibody engineering, antibody production).
- Express different antibody formats using mammalian expression systems.
- Purify expressed proteins using a range of chromatography techniques.
- Characterize and perform quality control of purified antibody molecules using biochemical and biophysical methods (e.g. SDS‑PAGE, CE‑SDS).
- Design and generate DNA constructs using a variety of cloning strategies.
- Directly perform the above‑mentioned wet‑lab tasks.
- Analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate experimental data, both verbally and in written reports.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of all work in laboratory notebooks, in accordance with company procedures.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with the different departments to ensure successful selection, implementation, and execution of translational research and clinically relevant biomarker assays and plans.
- Support the Immunochemistry team in antibody testing and contribute to day‑to‑day lab operations (e.g. maintenance of instruments, preparation of SOPs and risk assessments).
- Be a proactive player in writing scientific publications and grants.
