Senior Finance Manager - Madrid, Spain

The position plays a critical role in optimizing working capital, enhancing cash flow, and mitigating credit risk across a multi-country portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, it involves managing a team of 8 to 15 people and contributing to regional policy development. The role carries budget accountability and has a direct impact on the P&L through strategic receivables and risk management.

Role Responsibilities

  • Strategic Credit & Collections Management. Lead credit and collections strategy for European Master Agents and the Spanish Independent Network, ensuring alignment with financial targets and risk policies.
  • Team Leadership & Development. Manage and coach a team of 8–15 professionals, fostering performance, engagement, and continuous development.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration. Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations to resolve escalations, align on credit terms, and support commercial growth while managing risk.
  • Collections Performance & Cash Flow Optimization. Drive collection efficiency, reduce DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and improve cash flow through proactive account management and dispute resolution.
  • Reporting & Performance Monitoring. Provide regular reporting on portfolio performance, risk exposure, and KPIs to senior leadership, using data to drive decisions and continuous improvement.

Role Requirements

  • This role requires regular interaction with both internal and external customers, including Sales teams, Finance, Legal, and key accounts such as European Master Agents and Spanish Independent Partners.
  • The role requires both adherence to established global credit and collections policies and the ability to design and implement new processes tailored to the specific needs of the European Master Agents and Spanish Independent Network.
  • This role requires in-depth knowledge of the company’s credit and collections policies, financial systems, and operational processes, along with a strong understanding of the commercial environment in which the agents within scope operate.
  • The role requires strong leadership capabilities, with direct responsibility for managing a team of 8–15 professionals and frequent interaction with cross-functional teams.
  • This role requires deep functional expertise in credit and collections, including advanced knowledge of financial risk management, cash flow optimization, and receivables strategies.
  • The impact of this role is primarily at the regional level, covering the European Master Agents and the Spanish Independent Network. The role contributes to regional policy development, cross-functional alignment, and operational excellence, with measurable effects on cash flow, DSO, and customer satisfaction across multiple markets.
  • Through strategic decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive risk management, the role supports revenue protection and sustainable growth.
  • This role requires advanced problem-solving skills to address complex credit and collections challenges across diverse markets. It demands sound judgment in high-risk situations, often involving incomplete or conflicting information, and the ability to develop innovative solutions that balance financial risk with commercial opportunity.
