Role overview As a Senior Network Engineer at Ilkari, you will be part of the product development team, reporting to the Head of Engineering. You will design, build, and manage robust network infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our network, driving forward our mission of data sovereignty.
What you'll do Design, deploy, and maintain scalable network infrastructure in cloud and data centre environments
Collaborate on network strategies aligned with business goals
Evaluate new networking technologies to boost scalability
Document network configurations and troubleshooting procedures
Manage virtual networks, routing tables, and VPN connections
Implement cloud-based security features like firewalls and load balancers
Automate network tasks using scripting languages and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible or Python
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure security standards
What we are looking for Technical Skills
Strong experience in cloud network infrastructure (VPC and load balancers)
Proficiency in networking protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, OSPF, VLANs)
Advanced skills with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and network management tools (Wireshark, Datadog)
Scripting expertise (Ansible, Python, Bash) for automation
Soft Skills
Problem-solving with attention to detail
Communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Adaptable and proactive in continuous learning
Experience : Agile / Scrum environments and DevOps familiarity preferred
5+ years in Network infrastructure roles
Education
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar working experience.
