Overview

This role is based in Spain and requires appropriate immigration permission to work and reside in Spain for the duration of employment.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is a leading content provider with a global portfolio of films, television, and formats. The TV Distribution Sales Planning team sets and delivers product distribution strategy, supports negotiations, and handles end-to-end sales processes, including franchise planning, rights management, pricing support, contract review and forecasting.

Our Madrid office has an opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join the Sales Planning and Operations team in TV Distribution, supporting the Iberia region. The role focuses on three key areas : Deal Management & Administration, Sales Analysis & Title Inventory Management, and Forecasting & Planning. It involves working with key Iberian clients and providing analysis for the territory. The position primarily supports the Madrid-based Sales team and requires regular communications and expertise on clients, deals, sales history, and current forecasts. It also supports analysis, projects and best practice initiatives.

The candidate should have a passion for content, a broad understanding of the distribution business, and be able to communicate market and client developments to the relevant audience, including Senior Executives within the group.

Responsibilities

  • Deal Management & Administration

Set up and maintain deals in Sales & Rights Management systems; create Finance Release Packages and Materials Orders.

  • Manage contractual obligations and ensure all deadlines are met as detailed in the contracts.
  • Draft simple contracts and amendments using standard templates, working with Legal team when necessary.
  • Develop an excellent working relationship with clients, provide sales support, and attend external meetings as required. Liaise with clients on queries relating to deals (e.g., billing discrepancies, servicing issues, US Network scheduling changes).
  • Internal Relationships : Finance (revenue recognition, invoicing / payment issues, audit queries); DCS (Assets delivery); uphold Sales Planning Procedures; support system UAT and system development / enhancements.
  • Sales Analysis & Title Inventory Management
  • Support negotiations of new deals with analysis, working with the Sales team, VP of Sales Planning and Central Analysis team in London.

  • Analyse reports for available products and identify titles that meet client and sales criteria to maximise sales potential.
  • Window Management – maximise window opportunities for all products; establish Window Strategy for Franchise titles for local and global deals.
  • Utilise and develop new software tools (e.g., Tableau).
  • Forecasting & Planning
  • Take ownership for accuracy of deals and data in RPM / S2F; update annual and Mid-Range Plan forecasts in RPM and inform VP Sales Planning and Sales Teams of updates.

  • Provide variance analysis on product, deals and market assumptions to support forecasting.
  • Create summaries and commentary for Sales & Finance within deadlines.
  • Attend and contribute to regular forecast review meetings with Sales, Planning and Finance.
  • Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to undergraduate degree level (minimum).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar media environment.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros), PowerPoint; comfortable learning new systems.
  • Fluency in English is essential.
  • Competencies

  • Ability to use complex information to provide summaries with clear insights.
  • Managing priorities and deadlines during busy periods.
  • Proactive and adaptable – anticipate needs and take appropriate action with guidance or independently.
  • Excellent communication skills.
