Business Developer – Solar - Madrid, Spain

NXGN is partnering with a leading international renewable energy company to hire a Business Developer to lead commercial initiatives across Spain and Europe.

Role Overview

As a Business Developer, you will identify new commercial opportunities, foster strategic partnerships, and help grow the company's project pipeline. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are positioned for success from inception through development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand the company's footprint in renewable energy markets.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities in solar, storage, and hybrid solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, EPCs, utilities, and other key partners.
  • Lead negotiations on commercial agreements, contracts, and joint ventures.
  • Track market trends, regulatory updates, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal and international teams to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Support the project pipeline, from origination through handover to project development teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Renewable Energy, or a related field (MBA desirable).
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or commercial roles within solar, storage, or renewable energy projects.
  • Solid understanding of European renewable energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese) are a plus.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Madrid and travel across Spain and Europe as required.
