Underwriter Liability (m / f) – Allianz Commercial, Madrid

We are looking for an Underwriter Liability (m / f), based in Madrid.

Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Regional Head of Liability for Iberia Region, you will develop and execute the strategy for Liability risks in the Spain market. You will support the local strategy to achieve Allianz Mid Corporate targets and be the contact person for agents and / or brokers working with the Liability Team.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure underwriters comply with underwriting authority, pricing and rating guidelines.

Steer and control the portfolio at local level in conjunction with the Head of Liability to drive financial targets.

Proactively liaise with functional areas to review the end-to-end underwriting lifecycle performance.

Collaborate with Sales, Risk Consulting, Claims and other product lines to achieve marketing strategies, including cross-selling.

Ensure underwriting consistency and adherence to corporate guidelines, authority levels, and local regulatory framework.

Support development and implementation of new or modified products.

Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including agent and broker negotiations).

Communicate local business strategy externally.

Key Requirements / Skills / Experience

Degree in Law or Economics or other appropriate discipline.

At least 3 to 5 years' proven experience in underwriting profitable Liability business for corporate clients.

Ideally experience in PI / D&O / Cyber Risks / Legal Expenses as well as Multinational Clients / Programs.

Expertise in risk assessment and a firm understanding of policy administration life cycle.

Strong pricing knowledge and market analysis skills.

Ideally experience in designing, developing, and implementing wordings.

Experience in driving underwriting projects.

Solid leadership skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Strong communication and data analytics skills.

Ability to work in an international matrix organization.

Fluent English and Spanish.

Proficiency with Office 365 and other collaborative tools, with openness to AI enhancements.
