Senior Associate, Real Estate Development Finance

We have been retained by a leading provider of Real Estate Finance in their search for a Senior Associate. Our client has a track record of funding over £ 7 billion of real estate projects and offers a range of structured credit solutions across Bridging Finance, Development Finance, and bespoke Lending Solutions. They are increasing and investing in their European footprint, and this is a key hire reporting into the Global Head of Underwriting and working closely with a range of senior, board-level stakeholders.

In this role you will be a key part of the underwriting team, managing transactions across the lifespan of a Development Finance facility, with a focus on Spanish, UK, and European markets – this role requires fluent Spanish / English speaking.

Key duties :

  • Lead and coordinate the overall due diligence / underwriting process
  • Review initial deal information and prepare financial models in accordance with internal policies to share terms with clients
  • Produce key underwriting documentation, in particular, detailed credit applications, with direction from Deal Originators and support from the Deal Execution team
  • Review professional reports with the Head of Credit
  • Coordinate and lead communication with clients and stakeholders
  • Attend client meetings and contribute to new business development activities

Required experience, skills and characteristics :

We are seeking someone with experience across the real estate / development finance / risk underwriting, and portfolio management processes.

  • 5 years relevant industry experience
  • Spanish speaker
  • Experience coordinating with solicitors and reviewing finance / security documents
  • Degree educated;
  • further education pertaining to property and real estate is a plus

  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and brokers
  • Excellent mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills
