Procurement Business Partner, ACE Markets : Spain, Portugal & Nordic Markets

Overview Gilead Sciences Inc. is a research-based biopharmaceutical company focused on delivering life-saving therapies. We are expanding our Global Procurement Organization (GPO) to manage indirect procurement spend, optimize supplier strategies, and drive value across Europe and selected markets.

Procurement Business Partner ACE Markets : Spain, Portugal & Nordic Markets. This role partners with stakeholders at Gilead\'s Iberian Affiliates (Spain & Portugal) and may support additional smaller markets (e.g., Sweden) for high-value sourcing projects.

The role reports to the Procurement Director for ACE markets and sits within a team that collaborates with Gilead Sales & Marketing offices in ACE markets.

Responsibilities Act as a strategic thought partner to stakeholders and markets supported by this role.

Annually identify a pipeline of opportunities to optimize spend with suppliers and engage Affiliate teams to review planned spend and priorities.

Deliver 5-10% cost improvement year-on-year by implementing global and local sourcing strategies.

Partner with Global Category Managers to develop global category strategies, including capturing local requirements, and drive stakeholder adherence.

Identify preferred suppliers for key categories in collaboration with Affiliate stakeholders and Global Category Managers.

Develop sourcing strategies for locally managed spend with Affiliate stakeholders; maintain a holistic view of Affiliate demand and supply options.

Conduct RFPs, negotiate price and contract terms to implement agreed sourcing strategies for locally managed spend.

Determine stakeholder satisfaction with key vendors and support performance improvement opportunities.

Provide regular updates on delivery to GPO and senior Affiliate leaders; proactively highlight issues needing awareness or attention.

Promote stakeholder adoption of standardized procurement processes and demonstrate the value of good sourcing practices.

Participate in Procurement Team meetings to align with GPO goals, processes, and best practices.

Reporting Line This role is part of a GPO team that partners with teams located at one or more Gilead Sales & Marketing offices within Europe, Australia or Canada (referred to collectively as ACE markets).

It reports to the Procurement Director for ACE markets.

Experience Requirements 10 years of professional work experience plus a BS / BA (or equivalent) or 8 years plus MA / MS or MBA (or equivalent) in a corporate environment.

Experience in the Pharmaceutical / Healthcare industry is desirable but not essential.

Fluency in English and Spanish is required; knowledge of Portuguese is desirable but not required.

Extensive RFP negotiation and contract management experience.

Experience managing and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Experience in cross-functional collaboration; experience with Marketing or Medical teams is advantageous but not essential.

Strong business partnering capabilities with excellent organizational skills.

Clear communication, ability to influence without authority, and effective persuasion.

Leadership presence and gravitas; ability to present to leadership teams.

Analytical with strong attention to detail; hands-on, proactive with a strong drive.
