Lab Manager in the Dynamics of Protein Synthesis and RNA Decay Lab

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute based in Barcelona, Spain, with over 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG features an interdisciplinary team supported by efficient administration and cutting-edge technologies.

In April 2021, CRG received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' Award from the European Commission. The successful candidate will support the laboratory's smooth operation through project management, cell culture, biochemistry, molecular biology experiments, reagent preparation, equipment and inventory maintenance, and staff training. They will also implement health and safety regulations, including managing a radioactivity laboratory. Depending on experience, there may be opportunities to lead research projects.

The work aims to explore gene regulation, specifically how cells control mRNA stability during protein synthesis. This involves understanding mechanisms that regulate mRNA turnover and their implications for cell and organism health.

• Qualifications :

PhD in cell / molecular biology or biochemistry, or a bachelor's / master's / vocational training with 3+ years of relevant experience.

Experience in project support and laboratory management tasks.

Ability to independently pursue research projects.

Fluency in English.

Spanish language skills may be necessary for health and safety compliance.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Experience with data analysis software, e.g., Prism.

Experience with electronic lab notebooks and lab management software is advantageous.

Contract details : The initial contract is for 1 year, with potential extension based on lab activity, estimated until October 2030.
