Full Stack Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer to build a custom payment gateway based on an open-source foundation.

Cardflo is a fast-growing payments company with offices in Fuengirola, Málaga and Manchester, UK. Focused on simplifying global payment processing for high-risk and complex merchants. We’re developing our own custom payment gateway built on a proven open-source foundation, designed to support multiple acquirers, connectors, and payment methods.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take full ownership of the platform from refining the backend, dashboard, merchant integration tools, adding acquiring bank integrations, and shopping cart plugins. Once the MVP is complete, you’ll transition into a lead role, helping to grow and manage a small technical team as the platform scales.

You’ll be working closely with the founders from our Fuengirola office, with flexibility to work remotely part of the week.

What You’ll Do

• Fork and extend an existing open-source payment gateway.
• Build backend modules for routing, transaction management, reconciliation, APIs, and webhooks.
• Integrate multiple acquirers, processors, and alternative payment methods.
• Develop and customize the merchant dashboard (React + TypeScript).
• Create and maintain plugins for popular shopping carts (WooCommerce, Shopify, PrestaShop, Magento, etc.).
• Write a merchant integration guide and API documentation.
• Manage deployment, CI / CD, and ensure platform scalability and reliability.
• After the MVP launch, hire, mentor, and lead a small development team.
