Legal Counsel (Data Protection)

Melza Recruiting is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel with a strong focus on data protection and digital law on behalf of our client, a global digital and data-driven organization.

The role is based in Barcelona and will be part of the Legal & Compliance team. The successful candidate will act as the go-to advisor on privacy and compliance matters, while also supporting commercial law topics and bridging the legal and technology worlds in an international environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and support the implementation and maintenance of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.

Provide expert legal advice on privacy, data protection, and digital law.

Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to define standards and ensure proper implementation of controls.

Support on compliance and conduct queries across projects.

Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and policy documentation.

Requirements

Law degree.

4+ years of experience in data protection compliance, either in-house or at a law firm.

Strong problem-solving skills and a quality-driven mindset.

Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.

Previous experience in the tech sector is an advantage.

Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams, meeting demanding deadlines.
