What you'll do
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the payments ecosystem — from acquiring and issuing to open banking and digital wallets — and will play a key role in shaping PagoNxt’s commercial strategy and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and manage new business opportunities
across the payments value chain (acquiring, issuing, merchant services, open banking, cross-border, etc.).
Design and execute go-to-market and growth strategies
to expand PagoNxt’s presence in target markets.
Build and nurture strategic partnerships
with fintechs, banks, merchants, and technology providers to enhance the company’s value proposition.
Collaborate cross-functionally
with product, marketing, finance, and operations teams to align business initiatives with customer and market needs.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis
to understand trends, customer behavior, and regulatory developments in digital payments.
Develop business cases, financial models, and commercial proposals
to support new ventures and revenue streams.
Represent PagoNxt externally
at industry events, conferences, and meetings with key stakeholders.
Requirements
Education
: Degree or Master’s in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
: Minimum
5 years
in business development, partnerships, or strategic sales within
fintech, banking, or payments
industries.
Strong understanding of
payment systems
, including acquiring, issuing, processing, instant payments, and open banking.
Strategic and analytical mindset
, with the ability to translate insights into actionable business plans.
Proven ability to
negotiate and manage complex partnerships
with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent
communication and presentation skills
Fluent English
(C1 or higher); Spanish or other European languages are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in
cross-border payments, embedded finance, or merchant acquiring
Familiarity with
emerging technologies
such as APIs, AI, and blockchain in payments.
Background in both
corporate and startup / scale-up environments
