Senior Avionics Engineer – Space
At Orbital Paradigm, we're building autonomous space reentry capsules to enable routine, fast-return transport from orbit to Earth, supporting in-space manufacturing, science, and logistics. We are looking for a Lead Avionics Engineer to design, build, and test the avionics systems of our spacecraft. You’ll own the architecture and development of our flight electronics, working closely with other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop avionics systems from architecture to hardware and embedded software.
- Lead prototyping and testing of flight units (onboard computers, comms, GNC, payload control).
- Select and integrate components, ensuring system reliability and performance.
- Develop electronics for signal processing, power, interfaces, and control systems.
- Lead subsystem integration and avionics testing within the spacecraft.
- Contribute to proposals, technical strategies, and system-level planning.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Aerospace, Industrial, Telecom, or similar).Strong skills in embedded systems, prototyping, and hardware / software integration.Experience with avionics system architecture and spacecraft data-handling.Comfortable with testing, validation, and integration of complex systems.Fluent in English.Familiarity with ECSS standards and systems engineering tools.Experience in selecting and qualifying flight avionics.Benefits
