Overview

Role : Cloud Database Engineer

Location : Madrid, Spain

Duration : 1 Year

Job Description :

  • Expert knowledge of Oracle (RAC, ASM, Data Guard), MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and strong knowledge of NoSQL (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB).
  • Strong experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and EC2-based DB workloads.
  • Set up and manage high-availability solutions (RAC, AlwaysOn, Replication, etc.).
  • Design and implement database solutions for high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Evaluate new database technologies and implement best practices.
  • Expertise in performance tuning, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Experience with cloud migration strategies (DMS, SCT, hybrid setups).
  • Experience in Linux or Windows OS scripting (shell / command / other), with a strong focus on automation.
  • Advanced automation skills using Terraform, Python, Ansible, or AWS Lambda.
  • Conduct deep-dive performance tuning and indexing strategies.
  • Troubleshoot database connectivity, replication issues, and security concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert knowledge across Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.
  • Manage cloud-based database services and EC2-based workloads on AWS.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain high-availability and scalable database solutions.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement new database technologies and best practices.
  • Perform performance tuning, partitioning, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Plan and execute cloud migration strategies (DMS, SCT, and hybrid approaches).
  • Automate operations with shell scripting, Terraform, Python, Ansible, and AWS Lambda.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, replication, and security issues.
  • Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle (RAC, ASM, Data Guard), MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, MongoDB).
  • Proficiency with AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, and EC2-based database workloads.
  • Experience implementing high-availability solutions (RAC, AlwaysOn, Replication).
  • Proven ability to design databases for high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Experience evaluating and adopting new database technologies and best practices.
  • Expertise in performance tuning, partitioning, and query optimization.
  • Experience with cloud migration strategies (DMS, SCT, hybrid setups).
