Description

We are seeking a Data Specialist with solid experience in DBT (data build tool) and working knowledge of SAS programming. This hybrid role will support the migration and integration of legacy SAS-based processes into a modern ELT architecture using DBT and cloud data platforms.

This specialist will analyse the existing SAS code, including macros, procedures, and data steps, and translate business logic into DBT SQL models. Additionally, they will develop DBT tests to validate data quality and support regression testing during the SAS-to-DBT conversion.

Candidates must have at least three years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or analytics, and a minimum of two years of hands-on experience with DBT (Cloud or Core). Proficiency in SQL and data modelling techniques is essential, along with the ability to read and write SAS code, including macros and PROC SQL. Familiarity with data pipeline development and version control using Git is required, as well as a solid understanding of modern data warehousing concepts such as star schema and ELT patterns.
