This is a unique opportunity for a logistics expert to strategically lead Modernas global external logistics and packaging partnerships. The Manager 3PL Management will own the full lifecycle of third-party logistics (3PL) relationships from RFP to offboarding driving strategic integration automation and innovation. Operating globally from our Madrid hub this individual will be responsible for embedding AI-driven performance management systems ensuring end-to-end GDP / GMP compliance and integrating tools like SAP and Veeva into daily logistics workflows. The role demands a collaborative mindset working cross-functionally with Quality IT Manufacturing Supply Chain Legal and Finance to build a best-in-class logistics network that is efficient scalable and compliant. Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will be :
Own and manage global end-to-end 3PL relationships including logistics packaging and device partners
Lead RFP processes partner selection onboarding and contract lifecycle management
Implement and monitor clear KPIs to track performance and drive accountability
Embed systems and generative AI tools to automate and elevate 3PL operations
Act as a key SAP and Veeva user for all 3PL-related activities and logistics change controls
Ensure GDP / GMP compliance across all 3PL-related customs and handling processes
Coordinate Quality Finance Legal and Supply Chain input for compliant and optimized partner management
Your responsibilities will also include :
Optimize logistics lanes and regional setups with focus on cost lead time agility and sustainability
Support daily logistics flows including inbound outbound and intercompany movements
Drive innovation and continuous improvement projects across the 3PL network
Support deployment of IT and digital tools that streamline logistics operations
Act as the voice of 3PL strategy within cross-functional logistics projects and stakeholder alignment

Qualifications Basic Qualifications
Education : BS / BA degree in supply chain / logistics engineering or management / business administration
Experience : 8-10 years (BS) or 5-8 years (MS) in various Distribution / Logistics functions and Supply Chain
Strong preference for Pharmaceutical and Biotech experience. Experience working in a cGMP and cGDP environment with a good understanding of the Pharma industry & Supply Chain
5 years managing 3PL partners in a regulated and / or tech-forward logistics environment
Proven experience with full 3PL lifecycle incl. RFPs onboarding SLA / KPI setup and exit strategies
Experience in SAP or related ERP system is required
Experience of logistics software (transport management system visibility tools EDI connection)
Well organized with the ability to think, communicate, and conduct work effectively
Demonstrate a strong and independent work ethic that sees tasks to completion
You drive for results and demonstrate the ability to develop solutions
Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate with senior management in a dynamic cross-functional matrix environment
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
A curious mindset that allows you to constantly learn and challenge the status quo
Preferred Qualifications

APICS certification (CSCP or CLTD) is a plus
Experience with Cold Chain Transportation Products
Working knowledge of GDP and relevant guidelines and regulations
