Overview

Are you ready to shape the future of energy? Hitachi Energy is investing to establish and develop an Operation Center of Excellence in Madrid, Spain (ESOPC) within Grid & Power Quality Solutions. We are seeking highly qualified engineers in Power Electronics, Grid Integration, and Research and Development to join us. We are looking for a Power System Studies Engineer to join our Global eMobility Engineering team , contributing to the development of cutting-edge DC charging infrastructure , with a focus on electric bus fleets .

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Conduct power system studies such as Load Flow, Short Circuit, Arc Flash and Power Quality (Power factor & Harmonics Analysis) using software tools.
  • Understand Grid performance requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Perform reliability & availability calculations for different configurations and optimize.
  • Perform sizing calculations and prepare Single Line Diagrams with available products.
  • Ensure compliance with Customer’s specifications and requirements.
  • Provide technical support during tendering and project execution phases.
  • Ensure safety, compliance, and engineering excellence throughout the project.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, with a focus on Power Systems or Power Electronics.
  • 3-4 years of experience in MV / LV power distribution systems and power systems engineering.
  • Good understanding of Medium and Low voltage AC & DC distribution systems and modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering tools and software (e.g., ETAP, MathCAD).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, results-driven mindset with strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Committed to safety, quality, and continuous learning.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish, French or German is an advantage.

    • Willingness to travel : Required 10% of the time.
