Systems Test Engineer (Robotic Surgery)

About the role

We are looking for a System Verification Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in verifying the performance, reliability and robustness of our robotic surgical system.

You will work at system level, connecting requirements, testing and real-world system performance, while collaborating closely with different engineering disciplines.

What will you do?

• Define, develop and maintain System Verification strategies, methods and protocols.
• Translate system requirements into objective, measurable and repeatable verification methods and acceptance criteria.
• Design and execute system-level verification tests, covering areas such as accuracy, repeatability, motion performance, latency, synchronization, communications, mechanical behaviour and overall robotic performance.
• Define test setups, instrumentation, measurement methods and data acquisition tools.
• Analyse test data, identify deviations and support root-cause investigations.
• Prepare System Verification Protocols and Reports, ensuring requirements-to-test traceability.
• Work closely with Systems, Software, Electronics, Mechanical, Control and Integration teams during system integration and verification.
• Contribute to risk management and provide verification evidence for system-level risk controls.
• Support system characterization and verification throughout development milestones, design iterations and releases.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, Control Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in system verification, system testing or system performance characterization, preferably with robotic or mechatronic systems.
• Hands-on experience translating system requirements into verification methods and test protocols.
• Experience testing and characterizing robotic systems and analysing experimental data.
• Experience defining test setups and working with measurement and data acquisition equipment.
• Experience with requirements management and verification traceability.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across multidisciplinary systems involving software, electronics, control, communications and mechanics.
• Experience with Python, MATLAB or equivalent tools for test automation and data analysis is a plus.
• Experience in medical devices, automotive, aerospace or industrial robotics is highly valued.
• Knowledge of regulated product development, risk management, medical-device standards and Quality Management Systems is a plus.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a rigorous and detail‑oriented approach.
