Director of Commercial Sales

JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a well-backed energy and digital infrastructure platform as they look to expand their team with a Director of Data Centre Commercial & Sales in Spain.

It's a hands-on commercial role as much as a leadership one: you'll own the sales strategy while personally closing anchor and multi-megawatt deals.

Responsibilities:

• Build and deliver the go-to-market and sales strategy for colocation, hyperscale and AI/HPC capacity
• Originate, negotiate and close anchor tenant, wholesale, build-to-suit and powered-shell deals
• Win new hyperscale, neocloud, AI infrastructure and enterprise clients across Oman, Spain and other target markets
• Lead negotiations on term, capacity ramp, escalators, power pass-through and SLAs, keeping terms deliverable and bankable
• Match sales pacing to construction and energisation schedules so capacity is committed ahead of delivery
• Recruit and lead a distributed commercial team, setting KPIs around contracted MW, occupancy and MRR
• Report forecasts and performance to the executive team and Board, and support investor and lender engagement

Requirements:

• 8 to 10+ years in data centre, telecoms or cloud infrastructure sales leadership
• Track record of personally closing multi-megawatt data centre capacity deals (hyperscale, wholesale, AI/HPC or xghoner build-to-suit)
• Degree in Business, Engineering, IT or a related field; MBA an advantage
• Established senior network across hyperscalers, neoclouds, cloud providers, carriers and system integrators
• Strong grasp of power, cooling, interconnection and data centre economics, including pre-leasing
• Experience selling across the GCC and Europe; knowledge of the Oman market an advantage
• Fluent English; Spanish or Arabic an advantage
