For adesso Spain, we are looking for a skilled Backend Developer / DBA to join our international team and contribute to the development of a mission-critical data platform that processes millions of transactions and queries every day.

This position involves collaborating with international teams, including business trips to Germany every 3 months.

What You’ll Do

• 
  
• Optimize database performance through SQL tuning and database improvements.
  
• Design and implement backend solutions integrating Java applications and database systems.
  
• Maintain and upgrade Java and Spring Boot applications.
  
• Contribute to the evolution of a cloud-native platform running on AWS.
  
• Collaborate in the delivery of reliable, scalable, and high-performance solutions.
  

What We’re Looking For

• 
  
• Strong experience in Java and Spring Boot development.
  
• Advanced knowledge of SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL/AWS Aurora.
  
• Experience optimizing database performance and writing complex SQL queries.
  
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures and Kafka.
  
• Experience working with cloud and DevOps technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and high‑availability environments.
  
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
  
• Strong communication skills in English; German is a plus.
