Your Technical Mandate

In this role, you bridge the gap between creative lighting and pipeline architecture. Your work will directly impact the speed, stability, and visual fidelity of our production.

• Pipeline & Tool Development: Architect and maintain robust Python‑based tools within a USD‑centric pipeline. You will be responsible for creating documentation (Wiki) and ensuring your tools are intuitive for the wider team.
  
• Rendering Optimization: Diagnose and resolve complex technical bottlenecks, including render noise, extreme render times, and memory management using Arnold.
  
• Technical Problem Solving: Serve as the primary technical contact for the Lighting department, providing immediate solutions for surfacing, shader behavior, and lighting setup issues.
  
• Departmental Synergy: Act as a conduit between Look Development, FX, and Compositing teams to ensure color pipeline (ACES) integrity and seamless asset behavior.
  

Technical Requirements

• 
  
• Professional Experience: Proven track record in the TV animation industry as a Lighting TD.
  
• Pipeline Mastery: Expert‑level proficiency in Python and solid experience with USD‑based workflows.
  
• Rendering Expertise: Deep technical understanding of Arnold, physically based rendering (PBR), and rendering optimization techniques.
  
• Color & Technical Foundation: Solid command of color spaces, bit depth, and data representation (ACES).
  
• Tooling: Experience with production tracking software, specifically ShotGrid (Flow).
  
• Soft Skills: Fluent English, high attention to detail, and a proactive, collaborative approach to team‑based problem solving.
  

Nice to have: Proficiency in Qt, Nuke, and advanced shading techniques.
