#LI-HybridJob DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Powertrain Controls Engineer to join our team and lead the development and calibration of torque management systems for electrified powertrains.

The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with project management skills to drive innovation in EV controls development.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & CoordinationManage project timelines, task coordination, and resource planningMonitor project progress and ensure deliverables meet quality standardsCoordinate cross-functional teams and optimize manpower allocationTechnical DevelopmentDevelop and calibrate powertrain control strategies, with focus on torque management systemsDesign and implement control algorithms using Simulink and related development toolsConduct vehicle testing at proving grounds and climatic chambers for controls tuning and validationAnalyze test data and optimize calibration parameters for performance and efficiencyClient Interaction & InnovationPresent testing results and technical findings to clientsPropose technical improvements and defend engineering solutionsContribute to R&D projects to develop new services and capabilitiesDrive continuous improvement and innovation in internal processesQualificationsQualificationsRequired Experience & SkillsMinimum 3 years of experience in powertrain controls development and calibration, preferably in electric vehiclesExperience in torque management and powertrain control strategiesStrong proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and controls development toolchainsProject management experience in automotive engineering projectsAnalytical mindset with creative problem-solving abilitiesExcellent teamwork, organizational, and communication skillsCustomer-focused approach with ability to work autonomouslyFlexibility to travel internationally as requiredValid B driving license (additional licenses are a plus)EducationMaster's degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Electronics, Automotive, or related field)LanguagesEnglish: Fluent (mandatory)Spanish: ValuableAdditional languages (German, French, Italian, etc.) are highly appreciatedWhat We ValueAbility to thrive in dynamic, multicultural environmentsGoal-oriented mindset with strong results deliveryPassion for innovation and emerging automotive technologiesAdditional InformationApplus IDIADA is committed to equality,diversity and inclusion.
