Energy Procurement Expert (f/m/d) – Axpo Group

Help shape Axpo Iberia’s energy procurement with data‑driven forecasting and smart market strategies. Bring your quantitative skills to turn complex data into clear actions that improve portfolio performance and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

• Build and continuously refine procurement forecasts by portfolio and client.
• Design and validate statistical/ML models (time series, regression, boosting, AI‑based forecasting).
• Analyse deviations and define corrective actions to reduce imbalance costs.
• Prepare market analyses and reports on prices, volatility, risks, and scenarios.
• Propose and support market coverage strategies in close partnership with Trading and Sales.
• Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., Helio and external nominations) and mentor analysts.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering or similar; 3–5 years in forecasting, market analysis or procurement roles (must‑have).
• Strong experience with Python, SQL, Power BI; version control (Git); advanced Excel (must‑have).
• Knowledge of Iberian energy markets and processes (OMIE, REN/REE, nomination rules) (must‑have).
• Analytical rigor, business acumen, and clear data‑driven storytelling; able to communicate uncertainty and trade‑offs (must‑have).
• Ideally, experience with MongoDB and AWS (e.g., S3, Lambdas).
• Curious, detail‑oriented, and adaptable; collaborative across Trading, Sales, and Operations.
