Job Type: Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer, Part Time (Unit 3 – CFA – California Faculty Association).
The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as:
Appointment contingent on budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between CSU and the California Faculty Association. Acknowledges the “Order of Work.”
Appointees must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. No work‑visa sponsorship.
Commensurate with qualifications and experience within salary range placement. Salary ranges are established by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code 2358 for Academic Year Lecturers). For Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree: $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries usually at or near the minimum of the range. Actual monthly salary adjusted based on WTUs assigned per term.
The temporary faculty pool is continuously open; positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. The number of positions varies each semester. Appointments often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants may need to be available to begin teaching on short notice. The pool remains in place for two academic terms; reapplication required beyond that.
