Senior High Speed Digital Engineer

Location: Madrid Tres Cantos, Spain

This position will report to the site PPL DIGITAL HW Manager.

Mission

• Understanding of technical requirements and definition of technical solutions.
• Digital Electronics design for on-board units (based on FPGAs and microprocessors).
• Preparation of design documentation.
• Schematics capture in Mentor xDesigner.
• Analog/digital electronics simulations.
• Signal integrity simulations in Hyperlynx, ADS, Ansys or similar.
• Review of post layout/placement activities.
• Review of PCB routing.
• Preparation of board-level tests procedure.
• Internal or customer Design Reviews.
• Support in validation and acceptance campaigns.
• Engineering Master, preferably Electronics with firm background in digital electronic design.
• Experience in (minimum 6 years) Digital electronics design: communication buses, memories (DDR2, DDR4, NOR Flash), FPGAs, microprocessors.
• Knowledge of design tools: LTspice, Simplix/Simetrix, OrCAD, …
• Experience with High-Speed digital links (>1 Gbps): simulations, routing guidelines, VITA Standard.
• Valued experience working with FPGAs like Kintex Ultrascale, PolarFire, RTG4, RTAX and RISC‑V based microprocessors.
• Valued knowledge of space normative (ECSS) and electronics interfaces standard.
