ABOUT THE JOB

Join the Stim team as a Lookdev Supervisor on the animated series Ghost Force.
Reporting to the Director and Technical Management, you will be the technical and artistic guardian of the project's overall visual look. You will lead the lookdev artist team to translate 2D concepts into high-quality, optimized 3D shaders and textures.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise, guide, and mentor the Lookdev and Texturing artist team by providing clear and constructive feedback.
• Define and validate the final look (shading, texturing, materials) of characters, sets, and props in close collaboration with the Art Director and the Director.
• Actively collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth transition of assets through the pipeline.
• Implement workflows, material templates, and technical documentation to standardize production.
• Guarantee the technical optimization of shaders and asset efficiency for rendering (Arnold, Gaffer...), while keeping schedules on track.
• Anticipate technical or artistic challenges related to lookdev and propose creative solutions or tailored tools.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and motivating work environment within your team.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the animation or VFX industry, with a solid track record in a similar role or as a Lead Lookdev Artist.
• Excellent technical and artistic mastery of look development, shading, texturing, and render engines (primarily Arnold).
• In-depth knowledge of node-based software and architectures applied to lookdev/lighting (Katana, Gaffer, Houdini, Solaris...).
• Proven experience in managing, motivating, and coordinating a team of 3D artists.
• Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between artistic teams, the R&D/Pipeline department, and production managers.
• Fluent in both French and English.

NICE TO HAVE

• Strong visual culture and thorough understanding of color management (ACES / OCIO) and color spaces.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, OSL, VEX) to contribute to the optimization and automation of lookdev workflows.
