TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF CARTAGENA , A CALL FOR APPLICATIONS IS ANNOUNCED FOR THE HIRING OF RESEARCH STAFF WITH A BACHELOR'S DEGREE IN SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL ACTIVITIES IN THE RESEARCH AREA OF PRECISION AGRICULTURE THROUGH THE USE OF IMAGE-BASED INDICATORS (CODE: C-031/26).

TITLE OF THE POSITION OFFERED: INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING Research

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Indefinite.

PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY: Researcher (Bachelor's Degree)

For degrees obtained abroad (including those from the EU), applicants must provide proof that they have obtained the corresponding recognition or, where applicable, the credential attesting to the equivalence of their degree.

WEEKLY DEDICATION: The position will be full time, and the workweek will be 37,5 hours, carried out from Monday to Friday.

GROSS ANNUAL REMUNERATION: The employee will receive an annual gross salary of 35.075,88 euros.

PROJECT TITLE: Precision agriculture through the use of image-based indicators.

DURATION: The term of this contract will be contingent upon the availability of budgetary funds for the aforementioned line of research.

INTENDED DATE OF DEPUTY EMPLOYMENT: immediate.

Tasks to be carried out

• 
  
• Design of semantic models for quality assessment
  
• Training models using colorimetric data from agricultural products
  
• Installation of thermal and visible-light sensors
  
• Programming and data management
  
• Setup and maintenance of a test plot
  

PLACE OF WORK: Campo Facility (Ulea) and Los Arcos Laboratory (ETSII).

Merits to be assessed and evaluation criteria

• 
  
• Academic Background (40%): Academic records will be evaluated.
  
• Specific training (15%): Particular emphasis will be placed on demonstrable knowledge of model design and TensorFlow algorithms, and experience with hardware such as Raspberry Pi, as well as training in research activities, such as a Ph.D. and fellowships related to model design and automation.

• Other merits (20%): Experience in scientific communication (high-impact scientific articles related to the subject matter of the contract).
