The Claims, Litigations and Insurance Officer will manage and oversee the claims function within Noatum Maritime Agency, ensuring efficient, fair, and timely handling of all claims in accordance with internal policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. They will manage the company’s insurance portfolio, handle all insurance claims, and manage pre‑litigation disputes to protect company assets. Collaboration with the Compliance Counsel will ensure alignment with compliance frameworks and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Claims Management: Manage the end to end BU claims process, ensuring timely and accurate resolution across all maritime operations while keeping the Legal Director and Claims/Insurance Manager updated. Oversee litigations, manage relationships with external counsels, attend depositions/trials when needed, and negotiate settlements within authorized limits.

Insurance Management: Liaise with BU and Group insurance functions, ensuring validity, coverage and protection for the company.

Process Optimization: Develop and implement efficient claims handling procedures and workflows to improve operational effectiveness, ensuring all claims are entered into and maintained in ADP’s Claims Database.

Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for internal departments and external parties regarding claims matters.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Monitor claims trends and performance metrics to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Policy Alignment: Ensure claims practices are aligned with internal policies, insurance requirements, and legal obligations.

Subject Matter Expertise: Provide guidance and support to colleagues involved in claims-related activities across the cluster on day to day matters and escalating to the legal team as appropriate.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in law or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of contract law, commercial law and corporate governance requirements applicable to multinational groups.

Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in an international business environment.

Knowledge of AML, ABAC and sanctions compliance frameworks and regulatory environments.

Experience with compliance management systems and tools is an advantage.

Knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) is an advantage.

Fluent in English (spoken and written). Spanish fluency is a plus.

Any other languages are valued.

Experience in regulatory compliance, preferably international trade sectors.

Risk assessment and audit skills.
