Fall Creek is creating a world with better blueberries through its friendly, collaborative team spread across the globe. To help us accomplish this, we are seeking a qualified Research Data Scientist. This position is 100% remote and requires regular travel (up to 20%) to Fall Creek’s global research facilities.

The Fall Creek Research Data Scientist drives data analysis and statistical modeling to power decision-making in global breeding initiatives. This dynamic role involves developing key metrics and providing strategic insights from trial data, delivering timely and impactful reports that shape the future of breeding activities. This position reports to the Director of Breeding and collaborates with other managers and departments in the company.

What you'll do at Fall Creek :

• Design experiments and use statistically sound methodologies to evaluate phenotypic data collection under varying environmental conditions.
• Develop, manage and maintain complex databases ensuring data integrity and quality. Develop statistical and analytical models from field trial and environmental data.
• Define, interpret, deliver and present data analysis, leveraging unique data sets in support of R&D teams to add value for planning and acceleration of variety deployment.
• Discover & establish early pipeline screening protocols leveraging historical datasets.
• Analyze and interpret large, multi-year agronomic datasets to drive meaningful insights and influence critical business decisions.
• Proactively evaluate and incorporate new breeding techniques and technologies, and contribute to research projects aimed at improving breeding methodologies.
• Align and partner with key stakeholders upstream and downstream on research design strategies & outcomes.
• Act as a technical domain expert with cross-functional team members in the different regions of the company.
