What We Are Looking For

The purpose of the job is to take responsibility for all propellant and liner formulations used in rocket motors or base bleed propellants both for composite propellants as well as for Cross Linked Double Base (XLDB) propellants. Will work closely with the responsible quality assurance and propellant production staff as well as the rocket engineer to ensure propellant formulations are manufactured according to mixing sheets and to ensure final propellant will comply to burn rate and mechanical specifications.

Key Performance Areas

• Serve as the single point of contact and responsibility to ensure propellant and liner technology, formulations and manufacturing technology is transferred from external organisations in the case of Technology Transfer contracts for rocket motors
• Provide a technical support service to the Manufacturing Department during series production, including design of formulations before start of series production, manage document changes and non-conformances and solve technical problems by leading and conducting investigations and industrializing new materials and / or processes.
• Direct and control activities between the pilot / production plants, laboratories and test facilities
• Develop new propellant and liner formulations within quality, schedule and cost constraints
• Develop or acquire the technology to bond propellants to insulation and other materials as well as the documentation to capture mixing, casting and curing instructions for use on production plants
• Develop and expand the technical know-how base and capabilities for composite propellant technology as well as XLDB in REM to support current and future programs
• Participate in design reviews and technical project meetings to ensure low risk designs and achievement of cost objectives and milestone schedules
