Overview Mechanical Supervisor is the client's on-site specialist for all mechanical systems, with a focus on plumbing, firefighting, and swimming pool equipment. You will be responsible for daily inspection and quality assurance of the contractor's work, ensuring all mechanical installations meet safety, reliability, and performance standards in compliance with project specifications and regulatory codes.
Responsibilities Plan & Drawing Review : Thoroughly review mechanical drawings, including plumbing layouts, riser diagrams, shop drawings, and P&IDs for firefighting and pool systems.
Inspect the installation of the complete firefighting network (underground and above-ground piping, fire hose cabinets, standpipes, sprinkler heads, and the fire pump set).
Witness and verify critical tests, such as hydrostatic pressure testing of the pipe network and functional tests of the fire pumps.
Ensure all installations comply with NFPA standards and local civil defense requirements.
Oversee the installation of swimming pool mechanical equipment (pumps, filters, heaters / boilers, and related piping).
Inspect plumbing and connections for water features and jacuzzis; ensure boiler installation is safe, vented correctly, and integrated with the pool circulation system.
Supervise hot and cold water supply lines, drainage, waste, and vent piping; inspect water tanks, booster pumps, and water heaters; ensure fixtures are installed correctly with no defects.
Quality Assurance & Reporting : conduct daily site inspections, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and track them to resolution, maintain a detailed daily log of works progress, manpower, and equipment, and report progress, technical issues, and potential delays to the Construction Manager.
Qualifications & Experience Technical High School Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical certification.
Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience as a mechanical foreman or supervisor, with strong background in piping and mechanical equipment installation.
Proven experience on luxury residential, 5-star hotel, or high-end commercial projects.
Expert knowledge of plumbing, drainage, and ventilation systems.
Demonstrable experience with installation and testing of firefighting networks (NFPA standards) and swimming pool mechanical rooms.
Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
