Director Origination ( Real Estate, Development Finance)

We have been retained by a leading provider of Real Estate Finance in their search for a Head of Origination, Spain. Our client has a track record of funding over £ 7 billion of real estate projects and offers a range of structured credit solutions across Bridging Finance, Development Finance, and bespoke Lending Solutions. They are increasing and investing in their European footprint, and Spain is a key market. This is a key hire reporting into the EMEA Director and working closely with a range of senior, board-level stakeholders.

This person will have extensive experience of originating, negotiating, and executing principal loans in the Spanish Development Finance market – a track record in, or nearby, Madrid and / or Barcelona – and have a proven established network, possessing the gravitas to lead transactions from inception to completion whilst keeping abreast of the market and giving particular attention to the active client list for idea generation and professional credibility.

Key Responsibilities :

Originating and executing new loans to deliver against lending targets

Providing a high level of service and delivery to borrowers

Lead the presentation of high-quality and accurate credit proposals to the Credit Committee

Maintain oversight throughout the life of the loans with strong, active portfolio management

Proactively expand the organisations network and brand and work closely with Marketing and Events

Contribute to business strategy and new product development

Experience Required :

Demonstrable track record in originating in the Development Finance market

Substantial Debt Adviser and Broker, Professional and Client networks

Expert understanding of underwriting risk

Ability to coach, develop and manage team members

Awareness of business strategy and lending guidelines

Understanding of treasury and an ability to model transactions

Ability to drive the DD process in partnership with Credit, Legal and Loan Execution Teams

Present at Industry Seminars and Events

Comfortable visiting active building sites and knowledgeable on basic construction methods and budgets

Language – Spanish and English
