Project Research Engineer Position in Integrated Photonics
ICFO is offering a Project Research Engineer position in integrated photonics design, simulation, fabrication, characterization, and packaging. We are seeking a well-qualified, highly motivated, and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his / her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.
The successful candidate will join the Optoelectronics group led by Prof. Dr. Valerio Pruneri. This group has experience in the study and development of new advanced materials, devices, and systems for information and communication technologies, particularly displays, image sensors, and secure communications. The main drive of the group is to carry out applied research that bridges academia and industry, developing fundamental ideas with great potential for revolutionizing future photonic products.
Candidates will work on projects related to classical and quantum photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and must have experience in the design, simulation, characterization, or packaging of PICs. The aim of the work will be the development of next-generation PIC-based technologies, ranging from classical photonic processing to quantum communication, sensing, and metrology. On-chip quantum key distribution transmitters, entangled pair sources, and single photon sources are also important topics in the group.
The group is currently involved in several European projects.
