Subject Matter Expert – SAP Maintenance Operations (m / f / d)

About the role

As Subject Matter Expert – SAP Maintenance Operations, you design, implement, and optimize SAP PM solutions to ensure reliable plant maintenance processes across Fresenius Kabi.

You drive global IT initiatives, support system integration with modules such as MM, WM / eWM, and PP, and ensure compliance with validation and regulatory standards in the pharmaceutical industry. Acting as a consultant and technical expert, you enable efficient, compliant, and future-ready maintenance operations worldwide.

Your responsibilities

Design IT solutions for SAP PM and its integrations with related SAP modules and external interfaces

Lead global implementation projects, coordinating with Solution Architects, business stakeholders, and compliance teams

Act as consultant for SAP PM, supporting business requirements and system enhancements

Supervise and govern external partners and internal support teams (e.g., Fresenius Digital Technology)

Define technical and functional optimizations for SAP PM and plant maintenance processes

Conduct IT housekeeping activities, including periodic system reviews and upgrades

Lead and moderate technical workshops and stakeholder meetings

Contribute expertise to large transformation programs, with potential full-time assignments within SAP PM

Your profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Mechanical Engineering, Business Informatics, or a related field

Minimum 4 years of process knowledge in Maintenance Operations and end-to-end SAP processes (Plan-to-Produce)

Minimum 4 years of system knowledge in SAP PM with integration to surrounding SAP modules

General knowledge of SAP ERP and experience with Microsoft Office tools

Familiarity with Service Management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)

Understanding of industry-specific compliance and validation requirements in regulated environments, especially pharma

Proven project experience in global IT environments

Strong intercultural awareness and experience in global, cross-functional teams and matrix organizations

Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills

Proactive mindset with strong prioritization skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Fluent in English, written and spoken

Willingness to travel
