At Dornan, we are currently recruiting for an MEP Project Director to work on a datacentre project based in Madrid.

Responsibilities

  • Arranging and chairing the handover of the project from estimating to construction teams.
  • Liaising with the Operations Director regarding staffing.
  • Validating the project, developing business plans, cost control systems, cash flow, and billable schedules.
  • Producing procurement, drawing / design, construction program, s-curve, and histogram plans.
  • Coordinating with the client and design team on procurement and engineering issues.
  • Mobilising subcontractors and labor according to the business plan.

During the Project Running Phase :

  • Managing daily site activities effectively.
  • Ensuring project delivery within time and budget constraints.
  • Maintaining compliance with schedules, materials, engineering, quality, and safety standards.
  • Attending meetings with clients and holding weekly progress meetings with subcontractors.
  • Conducting monthly team meetings to review progress against milestones.
  • Measuring productivity weekly and maintaining project progress controls.
  • Submitting monthly reports to the Operations Director to mitigate risks.
  • Managing installation, labor, and subcontractors ensuring compliance with specifications and contracts.
  • Ensuring all health, safety, and welfare obligations are met.

    • Project Completion :

  • Understanding testing, commissioning, and handover requirements.
  • Demonstrating systems to clients and building control officers.
  • Preparing final accounts with QS and obtaining client approval.
  • Producing a project close-out report.
  • Maintaining contact with the client during the warranty period.
  • Completing post-contract activities such as site clearance, archiving, and disposal of confidential information.

    • Qualifications and Experience :

  • HND in Construction or equivalent.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale Mechanical & Electrical projects.
  • Strong commercial understanding.
  • Ability to prioritize health, safety, and environmental activities.
