Overview
Murex Business Analyst - Finance & Accounting. Based in Madrid (remote working can also be considered). You will operate in a team that supports changes and enhancements within the Finance and Accounting domain, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory standards, and optimization of accounting processes within Murex. This role requires deep understanding and expertise in Murex, finance, and accounting, along with strong analytical and configuration skills.
Responsibilities
- Murex Configuration and Support : Configure and maintain Murex for finance and accounting functionalities; implement and support changes related to financial reporting and accounting requirements; ensure the system is optimized for performance and stability; participate in production support rotation for 2nd and 3rd line support, providing functional and technical expertise to the support team, and handle incidents during or outside of business hours.
- Business Analysis : Refine business requirements from back-office stakeholders; translate business requirements into functional specifications for Murex; conduct gap analysis and feasibility studies for new initiatives.
- Stakeholder Management : Work closely with finance, accounting, IT teams, and external vendors; provide training and support to end users; manage communication and expectations with stakeholders; identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization; stay updated with the latest developments in Murex and financial accounting; propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance system capabilities.
- Technical Skills : Deep understanding of the Murex platform (architecture and modules); extensive experience configuring and customizing Murex for finance and accounting; proficiency in Murex MxML workflows, data mapping, and scripting to automate processes and integrations; understanding of Murex pre-trade workflows, datamart reporting, and official P&L views; knowledge of XSL, XSLT, and data dictionary formulae; in-depth understanding of Murex data model and user-definable fields.
- Finance and Accounting : Hands-on experience with Murex finance and accounting modules (GL, subledgers, financial reporting); able to configure financial statements, P&L reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow statements; experience configuring accounting rules for trades and flows (OOB and customized rules using simulation views); experience in managing end-of-day processes, accruals, and adjustments within Murex.
