Overview A vacancy for a Hardware / Software Assurance Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe. The successful applicant will join the Systems Engineering Department. The mission is to define and provide a process involving practices, tools and techniques to substantiate, at an adequate level of confidence, that errors in requirements, design and implementation have been identified and corrected such that the system satisfies the applicable certification basis.
Responsibilities Tasks & accountabilities
Discuss with the Airworthiness / Certification Authorities the Certification Basis, including CRIs if required, and the level of involvement of the authority.
Monitor Supplier Development : ensure the supplier performs its activities in compliance with RTCA / DO-254 and RTCA / DO-178, applicable CRIs or guidelines, with traceable processes, validation and verification, supervision of Requirements Based Engineering, and control over SEU (Single Event Upset) and robustness of the assigned equipment.
Perform reviews equivalent to those of the Airworthiness / Certification Authorities with sufficient lead time to correct any deficiencies.
Define the required documentation that Airbus shall receive at each milestone of hardware and software development according to RTCA / DO-254 and RTCA / DO-178.
Report that compliance can be demonstrated as consistent with the criticality / safety requirements and the program development schedule.
Required skills Required skills
Degree level education in Engineering.
Experience in Hardware Design Assurance and Software Design Assurance of aircraft equipment including Complex Electronic Hardware devices such as micro-coded components (ASICs, PLDs) and complex COTS components.
Collaborate with system / equipment designers to ensure civil / military certification of aircraft equipment including Complex Electronic Hardware devices, based on RTCA / DO-254 and RTCA / DO-178 or equivalent. Coordinate with Quality, Certification, Qualification, Safety, Software Assurance and Design Office departments as required.
Ability to master the standards related to Complex Electronic Hardware (RTCA / DO-254) and Software (RTCA / DO-178).
English advanced; Spanish is valuable.
