Wind Turbine Blade Aerodynamics Expert

The role of Senior Expert in Blade Aerodynamics is a key position within our global R&D team.

Our aim is to advance aerodynamic design, simulation, and validation of wind turbine blades to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency across diverse wind conditions.

Achieve technical leadership in air foil polar simulations using tools like XFOIL, MSES, and CFDI, as well as supporting airfoil design and analysis with the integration of features such as vortex generators and serrations.

Oversee multi-objective aerodynamic blade design processes incorporating structural, control, and load considerations.

Validate turbine power curves and perform root cause analyses for underperformance.

Conduct blade load simulations utilizing internal and commercial software tools.

Analyze field experiment data to assess in-flight blade response and its effect on turbine performance.

Review blade models focusing on aerodynamic risks and mitigation strategies.

Develop specialized computational tools (primarily in MATLAB or Python) to support blade design tasks.

Evaluate the aerodynamic impacts of blade modification kits and 3D CFD simulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

At least 20 years of professional experience in wind turbine blade aerodynamics.

Deep expertise in air foil performance and blade element momentum (BEM) theory.

Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, Fortran, C / C++ with knowledge of object-oriented programming and optimization algorithms.

Experience working with large datasets is an advantage.

Strong communication skills in English; capable of collaborating in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams.

Familiarity with relevant IEC standards (especially 61400-1, -11, -12) is preferred.
