Senior Wind Turbine Blade Specialist

Role Summary :

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Aerodynamicist to join our International R&D team in Madrid. As a key member of our global engineering team, you will be responsible for advancing aerodynamic design, simulation, and validation of wind turbine blades to enhance performance, reliability, and efficiency across diverse wind conditions.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop airfoil polar simulations using tools such as XFOIL, MSES, and CFDI;
• Support airfoil design and analysis including the integration of features such as vortex generators and serrations;
• Lead multi-objective aerodynamic blade design processes incorporating structural, control, and load considerations;
• Validate turbine power curves and perform root cause analyses for underperformance;
• Conduct blade load simulations using internal and commercial software tools;
• Analyse field experiment data to assess in-flight blade response and its effect on turbine performance;
• Review blade models with a focus on aerodynamic risks and mitigation strategies;
• Develop specialized computational tools (primarily in MATLAB or Python) to support blade design tasks;
• Evaluate aerodynamic impacts of blade modification kits and 3D CFD simulations;
