Energy Market Intelligence Senior Analyst

Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 19 years’ experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages and operates high quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2,6 GW (1,3 operational and + 1,3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW.

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Market Intelligence Senior Analyst to join our team in the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting market data to provide actionable insights that support business strategy and decision-making.

This role requires a strong understanding of renewable energy market analysis, business intelligence, and data analytics applied to market intelligence. The focus is on identifying market trends, opportunities, and risks to support strategic decision-making in the renewables sector.

What you will help us with

Conduct in-depth market research and analysis on renewable energy, covering supply-demand dynamics, policy and regulatory developments, technology trends, and competitive positioning.

Monitor and analyse market prices, project pipelines, capacity additions, and investment flows to identify growth opportunities and potential risks.

Develop analytical models and forecasting tools to project market evolution, energy demand, and generation mix.

Collaborate with commercial, strategy, and operations teams to align market insights with business objectives.

Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualization tools to present market scenarios and strategic recommendations.

Track competitor activities, partnerships, and industry innovations to inform corporate strategy.

Integrate and manage large datasets from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and usability for market forecasting.

Support cross-functional teams with ad-hoc market analysis for project evaluation, bidding strategies, and policy impact assessments.

Who you are

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Energy Engineering, Business, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

Proven experience in energy market intelligence or analysis (renewables strongly preferred).

Solid understanding of energy policy, regulatory frameworks, and market mechanisms.

Ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into actionable market insights.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

High level of English (required); other languages are an asset.
