Overview
The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (Power Backbone Industry Consultant) to lead the solutioning and delivery of complex cloud projects that solve customers' difficult business problems. This role combines industry expertise, consulting skills and technical understanding with strong project leadership to deliver business value based on successful AWS-based solutions. You will bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitating discussions across stakeholders and aligning with customer outcomes. You will apply AWS mechanisms such as Working Backwards and developing PR / FAQs to visualise how to digitise and transform core processes, working with architecture and technical teams to make informed trade-offs on technical performance, scalability, security, speed of delivery and business impact.
This role supports customers operating in renewable / alternative power generation, electricity networks and mobility. You will engage with customers from ideation to delivery and enablement of end-to-end solutions and value realisation. You will mentor and support other consultants to enhance industry understanding and broaden consulting skills. There are opportunities to extend experience into other energy domains such as upstream, downstream and mid-stream oil and gas. You will deepen technical skills to identify risks that might impact value delivery, achieve and maintain relevant AWS certifications, and communicate technical concepts to business audiences. As you progress, you will lead increasingly complex transformation projects, shape cross-organizational delivery strategies, and establish best practices in the domain. You will apply management and leadership capabilities to develop and execute project plans, proactively identify and manage risks, resolve issues, escalate when appropriate, and drive projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.
The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that helps customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives. Our team provides assistance through offerings and mechanisms that help customers achieve outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption, and delivers focused guidance through global specialty practices covering a variety of solutions, technologies and industries.

The position may require up to 50% travel to customer sites.
Qualifications
Bachelors / Master's degree in Business or an Engineering field (preferably related to Energy Management). 10+ years of total professional experience, with a minimum of 4 years in the Energy industry delivering business change and transformation. Specific experience in one or more Power Backbone domains (including renewable energy generation, electricity grid and mobility) with emphasis on end-to-end value chains. Proven consulting experience from ideation to value realisation. Fluency in Spanish and English.
Ability to travel to client locations as needed and excellent Spanish and English communication skills.
Core requirements include understanding of cloud concepts, experience with energy-specific use cases (e.g., renewable energy forecasting, grid management, optimization, power trading, demand response), and a foundation in GEN AI, mathematical optimization and machine learning to support new ways of working. Teaching or mentoring energy systems to other consultants is a plus. Additional European languages (Portuguese, French, Italian) are a plus.
