About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Engineer to join our engineering team .

The ideal candidate will have expert-level experience in backend development, strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices, and the ability to design and build secure, scalable, and high-performance applications for financial services and trading environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 17 with a focus on security, performance, and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and a microservices architecture to support high-volume real-time applications.
  • Work closely with front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Apply Test Driven Development (TDD) principles, writing comprehensive unit and integration tests.
  • Utilize design patterns and SOLID principles to ensure maintainable and extensible codebases.
  • Collaborate within an Agile environment, contributing to CI / CD practices.
  • Support compliance, trading, and wallet integration requirements within the platform.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, especially in blockchain, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Expert knowledge of Java Server-Side development, including Java 17.
  • Hands-on experience with Java Lean, JDBC, SQL, PL / SQL, JMS, JUnit, and Gradle.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful services and microservice architecture.
  • Practical experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing practices.
  • Familiarity with design patterns and SOLID principles.
  • Exposure to the full software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in microservices development and distributed systems.
  • Experience with compliance-related systems, wallet and trading solutions is highly desirable.
  • React or front-end experience is a plus.
  • Interest in or understanding of blockchain technologies is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
