Senior Front-end Developer at SoftBlues

Location : Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

Base pay range : $55,000.00 / yr - $72,000.00 / yr

Note : This range is provided by SoftBlues. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

This role offers the chance to work in an international senior team among developers with over 8 years of experience, joining best practices and a world-class engineering culture. The product is a large, complex e-commerce platform spanning hundreds of markets for a major FMCG company.

Responsibilities

The eCommerce Front-end Developer (AB Testing, EV Squad) is responsible for delivering front-end solutions in alignment with technical and branding guidelines, especially in front-end personalization and AB Testing. Responsibilities include enforcing guidelines, supporting other developers, and occasionally leading the implementation of commercially driven, innovative digital experiences aligned with strategy and brand / market needs. The area of action extends to :

  • Manage front-end content development needs from the business, leveraging web development frameworks and best practices to deliver high-performing experiences.
  • Understand front-end content development needs from the business and deliver high-performing experiences using UX / UI intuition.
  • Execute the global campaign and permanent content roadmap while embracing Commercial, Communications & Brand values.
  • Raise awareness of innovative web technologies in and beyond the Global eCommerce Community (GECO).

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of experience in eBusiness, eCommerce and / or Digital Agencies.
  • Strong UX / UI technical background.
  • Strong front-end code optimization and coding best practices, including advanced JavaScript techniques and capabilities.
  • Experience mentoring and / or guiding junior team members.
  • Experience liaising with external (digital) agencies.
  • Fluent Mac user (as a software developer).

    • Skills / Competencies / Attributes

  • Strong HTML5, semantic HTML, Web Components, SEO.
  • Solid JavaScript expertise : asynchronous programming (AJAX, promises, lazy loading, events), ES6, Node.js, optimization (bundlers), frameworks / tools (Vue.js, Angular, React), unit testing.
  • Familiar with TypeScript.
  • CSS3 foundations : SASS / SCSS, mixins, etc.; mobile-first, responsive design, ITCSS, accessibility (WCAG).
  • Experience with front-end personalization techniques and technologies.
  • Cross-device and cross-browser compatibility knowledge.
  • Analytical thinking : tracking plans, analytics concepts; UX / usability principles.
  • Team-player, effective communicator; familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket (Git); English proficiency.
  • Knowledgeable about web, technology & digital innovation trends.
  • Basic Photoshop skills for exporting media (cropping, resizing, optimization).

  • Proven track record delivering commercially oriented digital experiences.
  • Customer-service oriented mentality; data-driven decision making.
  • Well-seasoned Agile practitioner.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiar with Google Analytics (reporting / analysis) without required development / configuration skills.
  • Extra qualifications (Big plus) : Google Optimize / Google Tag Manager, Cypress, Figma, Adobe Target, Chromatic, CI / test automation, Browserstack, Akamai CDN.
