Junior Civil Engineer

Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 19 years’ experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages and operates high quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2,6 GW (1,3 operational and + 1,3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW.

We are seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to give support to our projects globally based in Madrid .

Responsibilities :

Provide technical and design support to the Construction & Development Department to optimize renewable energy projects (PV, BESS, and Wind), focusing on cost efficiency in construction and land leasing.

Prepare civil and mechanical engineering documentation for projects under construction.

Conduct and review hydrological and hydraulic studies to support site selection, layout design, and infrastructure development.

Develop technical documentation related to civil and structural works (foundations, access roads, drainage systems, platforms, etc.).

Execute earthworks studies (cut & fill analysis, grading optimization, drainage integration) using specialized civil engineering software.

Prepare engineering drawings and technical specifications (CAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent).

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. Master in Renewable Energy is a plus

1–2 years of professional experience in civil engineering projects (energy, infrastructure, or renewable energy preferred).

Internship or academic project experience in solar PV, geotechnical, or hydrological engineering will be considered a strong plus.

Solid geotechnical background with ability to interpret studies / tests and extract relevant data.

Experience in earthworks design , including grading optimization and basic mass haul calculations.

Familiarity with PV plant components and technical operating parameters.

Advanced MS Office skills , especially Excel.

Basic knowledge of CAD, Civil 3D (or equivalent) and Q-GIS (or similar geo-referencing software).

Intermediate English proficiency (spoken and written).
